This thoroughly pleasant, restored 19th-century building is one block from the waterfront, close to South Street Seaport. Its cozy, librarylike lobby has the feel of a Colonial sea captain's house, albeit with a corporate twist. The rooms are clean and well lighted, though not terribly exciting. For around $25-$35 extra, you can have a room with a whirlpool tub and/or an outdoor terrace with a view of the Brooklyn Bridge.
