John Jay Homestead State Historic Site

John Jay Homestead State Historic Site Review

The estate of John Jay (1745-1849), the first chief justice of the United States Supreme Court, has many American classical furnishings from the period and traces Jay's life and career. The house, built in 1801, was, until the early 1950s, home to five generations of Jay's family. You can stroll the property, which includes formal gardens.
