Cape Fear Museum of History and Science
Cape Fear Museum of History and Science Review
Trace the natural, cultural, and social history of the lower Cape Fear region from its beginnings to the present. The interactive Cape Fear Stories exhibit provides a chronological history of the region from early Native Americans to the 20th century. The Michael Jordan Discovery Gallery encourages kids to get in touch with the area's enviroment. They can make sand dunes and feed Venus Flytraps. Also check out the fossilized skeleton of an ancient (1.5 million years old), giant (20 feet long, 6,000 pounds) sloth discovered in 1991 during the construction of a Wilmington retention pond.
