Atlantic Beach Review
Just over the high-rise bridge from Morehead City to the beach, Atlantic Beach was once known for boisterous nightclubs on the infamous Circle. In recent years, Atlantic Beach has become a more family-friendly spot enjoyed by couples and retirees, too. These days, free outdoor movies, playgrounds, volleyball, soccer, and carnival rides are featured on the town's Circle. A boardwalk fronts part of the clean, wide beach, where buoys mark lifeguard-protected swimming areas. Amenities: food and drink, lifeguards, toilets. Best for: surfing, swimming, windsurfing.
