The Dalles Lock and Dam

The Dalles Lock and Dam Review

At this hydroelectric dam east of the Bonneville Dam, you can tour a visitor center with a surprisingly even-handed exhibit on differing views of Colombia River dams, with input from farmers, utility companies, environmentalists, and indigenous tribes. There's also a surreal live feed of salmon and sturgeon scaling the fish ladder. Call ahead for tours offered most weekends, photo ID required.
