Hoover-Minthorn House Museum

Hoover-Minthorn House Museum Review

In 1885 Dr. Henry Minthorn invited his orphan nephew "Bertie" Hoover to come west and join the Minthorn family in Newberg. This boyhood home of President Herbert Hoover is the oldest and most significant of Newberg's original structures. Built in 1881, the restored frame house still has many of its original furnishings, including Hoover's bed and dresser. Hoover maintained his connection to Newberg, and visited several times after his presidency.
