Lange Estate Winery and Vineyards

Lange Estate Winery and Vineyards Review

Don and Wendy Lange moved north from Santa Barbara, California, in 1987, and planted their first vineyard in 1988, in pursuit of first-rate Pinot Noir. They now produce wines (which also include Pinot Gris and Chardonnay) that are consistently complex and well balanced, and they have depth. Some of Lange's Pinot Noir comes from their 60-acre estate vineyards; other grapes come from local growers. Lange makes two styles of Pinot Noir: a traditional vat-fermented wine and a more complex barrel-fermented wine. This was one of the first wineries to make a barrel-fermented Pinot Gris. The winery has astounding views of the Willamette and Chehalem valleys.
