Duck Pond Cellars

Duck Pond Cellars Review

One of the region's jewels is fronted by gardens north of Route 99W. Doug and Jo Ann Fries planted the vineyards in 1986 and opened the winery in 1993. They concentrate on estate-grown Willamette Valley Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay, but also make Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from grapes grown in Washington's Columbia Valley, where they have pioneered vineyard plantings on the Wahluke Slope above the Columbia River. The Duck Pond tasting room has a market that sells food and gifts, and the picnic area is a floral delight.
