Bube's Brewery

Bube's Brewery Review

Dating from before the Civil War, Bube's Brewery is the only brewery in the United States that has remained intact since the mid-19th century. Three different restaurants and eight guest rooms are found on the grounds, mingling history with kitsch. The Bottling Works, in the original bottling plant, serves steaks, burgers, and seafood at lunch and dinner. In summer you can enjoy one of four or five Bube's brews outdoors in the biergarten. The dinner-only Catacombs serves traditional steak and seafood dishes in the brewery's candlelit cellars, 43 feet below the street. Themed feasts—Roman, pirate, fairy, for example—take place every Sunday night. In Alois, inside an adjoining Victorian-era hotel, you can participate in ticketed murder-mystery dinners. Upstairs, each of the eight rooms (which share three baths) is themed, from a jungle room complete with waterfall to nasty and nice princess boudoirs.
