Historic Smithton Inn Review

Hand-sewn quilts coexist comfortably with iPod docking stations at this B&B, a former tavern built in 1763. The inn has been authentically restored and filled with hand-tooled furniture that is true to the period, much of it designed and built by the former owner, an artist who worked closely with local craftspeople. All the rooms have fireplaces and many have canopy beds; the third-floor suite has a skylight, cathedral ceiling, and Franklin stove. Historic charm melds with modern flair for a unique experience that owners Rebecca and David Gallagher refer to as "historic hip." Full breakfast is included.
