Captain Nick's Rock N' Roll Bar sets itself apart from the other bars that surround nightlife epicenter Bridgegate Square by hosting June's Block Island Music Festival, a free roundup of to-be-discovered bands from around the country. Later in the summer it becomes a fortress of summertime fun, with bars on two floors, live music inside and out, and a suntanned crowd to ogle. Quieter Piano Bar evenings are hosted by its owner, a gifted pianist and singer, on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings; Fat Head Sushi, available Thursday to Sunday evenings, is the best light dinner deal in town.
