Asterisk Review

Interior renovations at the beginning of 2012 lightened the walls and added new upholstery and light fixtures to this French bistro located in a cleverly converted garage on lower Thames Street. High ceilings and an open floor plan lend a lively metro vibe. Danish-born chef/owner John Bach-Sorensen has also added a chef's table for those who want kitchen interaction with seating for 10. Fresh seafood, especially the crispy salmon served with mushroom asparagus orzo risotto and cabernet sauce, continues to please Asterisk fans. Hand-cut beef filets and grilled pizzas are also popular while the bar pours a great espresso martini.

    Worth it!

My husband and I had a wonderful meal here on a recent weekend getaway. We sat outside under a covered area. The Crispy Salmon was amazing as was the Steak AuPoive. Great wine selection as well! The meal and walk to the restarant was worth it!

    great experience

I had a lovely lunch here- great food and service and would absolutely return here. The ambiance is sophisticated but cozy and I'd recommend this spot to anyone!

A Great Place To Be Ignored

I was at this restaurant recently. After being ignored at the door, I found my own table. After being ignored for a before dinner drink, I got my own. After being ignored at my table for food service, I left. I travel to Newport regularly on Navy business. In light of this experience, I am not planning to return to this restaurant. I do plan to share this experience with others.
