Shelter Harbor Review

Set back off Route 1, this early 19th-century farmhouse inn and restaurant in the village of Shelter Harbor is a quiet retreat 5 mi from downtown Westerly. First established in 1911 as a music colony, the inn has lovely grounds with two paddle tennis courts, professional six-wicket croquet court, and a bocce and putting green. A third floor deck with hot tub offers great views of Block Island. Guests receive weekday parking passes to a nearby private barrier beach in Weekapaug and complimentary shuttle service on weekends. Many rooms have fireplaces, some have decks. A very good breakfast is included in room rates.
