On the site of the former upscale Up River Cafe is a more casual restaurant that opened three months after the a devastating flood in March 2010. Named for the bridge spanning the Pawcatuck River that runs beside it, the restaurant offers affordable American regional cuisine with an emphasis on local seafood and comfort food. The menu includes a flavorful meat loaf, lobster mac 'n' cheese, and chicken potpie along with popular grilled fish tacos. The riverside bar and outdoor patio is great for taking in summer concerts in the park right across the narrow river in Connecticut or watching the annual Westerly-Pawcatuck Duck Race, when 20,000 rubber duckies are cast into the river to raise money for local schools and nonprofits.
