Fodor's Review:

This center, part museum and part archive, was once a school for freed slaves. Collections include slavery artifacts like badges, manacles, and bills of sale. A riveting mural chronicles the Middle Passage -- the journey slaves made from Africa to Charleston's shores. The free tours include a brief film.
