Sharing high, family-style tables for breakfast, lunch, or dinner leads to camraderie at this bistro. Thursday brings crowd for fondue. The cheese fondue is disappointing, but the seafood, which you cook yourself in broth, is better. Nightly specials, such as bouillabaisse and couscous, are reasonably priced and come with a petite glass of wine. The subtly sweet chocolate mousse cake is the best.

Breakfast was wonderful. Chocolate pasteries were fresh and tasty. No eggs, however, which put me off a bit. Coffee is to die for and I don't drink coffee. Dinner was terrible. Service incredibly slow and the worst Croque M. I've ever had. Suppose to be toasted with sauce guys!!! I'm going back for another try because I really want it to be good. Prices are wonderfully low.

This is the best meal I had in a long time. I would recommend anyone visiting Charleston to stop by for at least a cup of coffee or soup.

Worst Meal I Had In Charleston

Gaulart and Maliclet bill themselves as "Fast and French". Disappointingly, the food was neither fast nor french. In most normal cities, natural selection would eliminate mediocrities such as G&M. Unfortunately, there seems to be enough tourist traffic in Charleston to keep this place fat, happy, and mediocre.
