Wind Cave National Park Sights

Mammoth Site Review

While building a housing development in the 1970s, workers uncovered this sinkhole where giant mammoths came to drink, got trapped, and died. Nearly 60 of the fossilized woolly beasts have been unearthed, and most can still be seen on-site. You can watch the excavation in progress and take guided tours.
