San Luis Resort, Spa & Conference Center Review

A long marble staircase alongside a slender fountain with sculpted dolphins welcomes you to the beachfront elegance of this resort. The upper-floor facade isn't much to look at, but don't let that fool you; inside, the colors of cool, cream marble and taupe stone in the lobby are echoed in the guest rooms. The sculptural lines of pink granite on the headboards and armchairs say "Italian villa." All rooms have balconies facing the Gulf, and prices rise with the floor height. New Club Ten guestrooms on the 10th floor offer upgraded linens, down comforters, iPod docking stations, and huge plasma TVs. Back on ground level, step into the meandering (and heated) grotto pool with a rock waterfall set amid coconut palms and bougainvillea; then have a Balinese massage (or a wildflower compress) at the Spa San Luis. The resort offers free parking for the duration of a cruise as well as transportation to the cruise terminal.
