Utah Museum of Natural History Review

Exhibits focus on the prehistoric inhabitants of the Colorado Plateau, the Great Basin, and other Southwestern locations. Utah's dry climate preserved for centuries not only the structures of these peoples, but also their clothing, foodstuffs, toys, weapons, and ceremonial objects. In the basement are thousands of dinosaur fossils, dominated by creatures from the late Jurassic period, many from the Cleveland-Lloyd quarry in central Utah. Collections of rocks, minerals, wildlife, and other fossils round out the museum. Construction is underway for an all-new complex adjacent to Red Butte Garden scheduled to open in 2011.

    OK Natural History Museum

This is a Natural History Museum. It won't make you forget its peers in New York or Boston, but it's not a bad example of its type. A little hard to find on campus and too expensive for what you get, though.
