Hotel Monaco Salt Lake City Review

This swank hotel is ensconced in a 14-story former bank (built in 1924), distinguished by an exterior decorated with classical cornices and cartouches. Inside, the look and feel is sophisticated, eclectic, and upbeat. Rooms offer extras such as big-fringed ottomans, oversize framed mirrors and beds, and lots of pillows. And, there are special rooms for especially tall folks, with extra-long beds. Bambara Restaurant, on the ground level (under separate management), is one of the city's most celebrated dining spots. Request a fish in advance, and they'll have a goldfish in your room to keep you company.

    Nice, but a little cramped

Like most boutique or converted hotels, it's a little cramped. However, staff was attentive and restaurant was good. Convenient central downtown location.
