Salt Lake City Shopping

Sugar House Business District Review

Utah pioneers tried to produce their own sugar at a mill here. Although sugar never made it to their tables, this shopping district is a sweet place to find funky little shops and restaurants of all kinds. The Sprague Library (2131 S. 1100 East), chosen America's most beautiful library in 1935, is a historic Tudor building that makes a great base from which to explore. Pick up food at any of the dozens of eateries, and rest at tiny Hidden Hollow Park, or cross 1300 East to the expansive Sugar House Park. Catch the city's most spectacular fireworks and arts festival every July 4.
