Birch Ridge Inn Review

A slate-covered carriageway about a mile from Killington base stations leads to one of the area's most popular off-mountain stays, a former executive retreat in two renovated A-frames. Rooms range in style from Colonial and Shaker to Mission, and all have a sitting area with a TV hidden behind artwork—in one room, a dollhouse rotates up to reveal it. Six rooms have gas fireplaces, and four have whirlpool baths. In the intimate slate-floored dining room ($$$; closed Monday and Tuesday), choose either a four-course prix-fixe dinner or order à la carte.
