Dinner here will make you dream of F. Scott Fitzgerald. Piano music wafts from the library, and you can carry a drink through the rooms of this 1880s mansion, gazing across a long lawn and formal gardens on the shore of dark Lake Champlain—you'll swear Jay Gatsby is about to come down the stairs. Count on just-grown ingredients that come from the market gardens as well as flavorful locally grown venison, beef, pork, and chicken. On weekends a spectacular spread of produce is set up next to a cocktail bar with fresh specialties. The dining room overlooks the lake shore, and Sunday brunch (not served in May) is the area's best. Breakfast is served as well.
