Stowe Mountain Lodge Review

At the base of Stowe's skiing mountain, this 2008 addition to the Stowe lodging scene would be king of the hill for location alone, but a luxury stay here also includes many ski lodge perks. Rooms are rustic-meets-contemporary in configurations from studio-size to three-bedroom, many with outdoor terraces. Guests get complimentary access to a fleet of new Mercedes-Benz cars to explore town or drive up the mountain. There's a spa and salon; a massive fitness room; a private 18-hole, Bob Cupp-designed golf course; and a huge heated outdoor pool. A stay includes "wellness lodges" with oversize hot tubs and saunas. There's also a game room for kids, a Ralph Lauren shop, and a most contemporary-looking bar and restaurant. In winter, you can watch the skiers on the mountain from your room and—with gondolas at the doorstep—join them in no time at all.

Go to golf or ski AND it's a great place to relax between the high seasons!

Go to golf or ski, but also go for woodland walks in the late fall and spring. Follow your walk with a hot tub and a swim outdoors! The spa is also superb as is the food. We love to eat at the bar and sit by the fire in our hotel room playing board games. It is fabulous for a couple AND tremendous for a family. And, if you just want to drive up, unload and never see your car again all weekend, it is just the spot.
