Orange County
Orange is a fertile agricultural area bearing reminders of the Civil War. Among the many estates dotting the countryside is the home of our nation's fourth president. A visit to Montpelier, the home of James Madison, is an easy side trip from the Charlottesville area, and a little over an hour's drive from Richmond. Orange is also home to one of Virginia's favorite wineries, Barboursville.
