Planning Your Time
You'll need a minimum of two to three days to see all of the major attractions in Richmond, at least half a day in Petersburg, and two days in the Fredericksburg and Northern Neck regions, which you should see together in one trip. Heading south from D.C., you can stop off in Fredericksburg, head out to Northern Neck, then continue on to Ashland and Richmond. Heading south from Richmond, you can visit Petersburg and continue on to Colonial Williamsburg or Virginia Beach.
