Channel Bass Inn Review
This three-story, beige clapboard house just off Chincoteague Bay was built in the 1870s, then expanded and converted to an inn 50 years later. Its luxurious rooms all have comfortable sitting areas, and outside is a lovely Japanese garden. In addition to its included full breakfast, the inn serves afternoon tea Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday in the public tearoom, at a reduced rate for inn guests. Delicacies such as Apfelkuchen (German apple cake), butterscotch pecan tarts, and firm ginger scones, all homemade, are served on Wedgwood china. The innkeeper herself is charming, personable, and a wealth of information.
