The three major airports in the region are served by many national and international carriers. Ticket prices are often much less expensive to and from Norfolk and Newport News than nearby Richmond. All three airports are relatively small and easy to navigate.

Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport is served by Air Tran, America West, Delta, United, and US Airways. Norfolk International Airport, between Norfolk and Virginia Beach, is served by Continental, American, Northwest, US Airways, and Delta as well as smaller airlines. Richmond International Airport, 10 mi east of Richmond, off I-64 at Exit 197, is about 45 mi from Williamsburg.
