With the opening of May Kitchen + Bar, there's reason beyond La Boucherie for city dwellers to hop a ferry to come to Vashon for dinner. Foodies swoon over the delectable Thai dishes cooked to perfection, and the ambience is scene-y (atypical for Vashon): dark with fully paneled walls in mahogany and teak—wood that owner May Chaleoy had shipped from Thailand, where it previously lived in the interior of a 150-year-old home. Reservations highly recommended.
