Southwestern Washington: Places to Explore
Mossyrock
Mossyrock is a charming small town nestled between two large lakes—Riffe and Mayfield—that were created by dams in the 1960s. The area is a haven for camping, fishing, and boating; two lakefront parks are owned and operated by Tacoma Power (which generates power from the dams and stocks the lakes with fish). At Mayfield Lake there are also a state park and a privately owned marina and resort. The town has the only movie theater in the area playing first-run movies, the Mossy G, housed in a 1930s-era brick building that is also home to a café, pizza place, and offices.
