The Olympic Peninsula: Places to Explore

Sequim

Sequim (pronounced skwim), incorporated in 1913, is a pleasant farming and mill town between the northern foothills of the Olympic Mountains and the southeastern stretch of the Strait of Juan de Fuca. With neat, quiet blocks and lovely views, it's also a popular place to retire. A few miles to the north is the shallow and fertile Dungeness Valley. Though it has some of the lowest rainfall in western Washington, fragrant purple lavender flourishes in local fields.
