Calle Balcarce

Fodor's Review:

Although a stretch of Calle Balcarce is known for its touristy tango spots, the 900 and 1000 blocks have some unique Spanish colonial architecture, such as Number 1016, the former home of painter Juan Carlos Castagnino. Stroll down this street to reach one of the first of the quickly vanishing conventillos of the past, on the corner of Humberto I.
