You'll half expect sawdust on the floor and a saloon fight to break out when you walk into this old-time steak house just off the docks of La Boca. While the place is filled with locals, it's also a spot for in-the-know tourists, and a regular stop for touring rock stars who seem to have chosen it as "the" spot to go when in town for a performance. Big, juicy steaks, cooked right, massive side dishes, and more ambience than you can shake a stick at, El Obrero is a movie director's dream of an Argentine steak house come to life. The neighborhood is a little iffy, particularly at night, and it's down a little side street—take a taxi to and from (they'll call one for you).
