Patagonia Sur
Patagonia Sur Review
Located just off the picture-postcard tourist trap of El Caminito in La Boca, this was once Francis Mallman's flagship restaurant. Arguably the country's most beloved chef, he's moved most of his attention to his newer ventures in Uruguay. Fame, particularly television fame, have had their price—mostly in raising them. Patagonia Sur is likely the most expensive restaurant in the country, particularly since it serves up rustic steak-house fare, with a flare to be sure, but nothing extraordinary. These days, the only option at either lunch or dinner is a three-course prix fixe at a price that would make a London or New York chef blush with embarrasment.
