Museo Casa de Ernesto "Che" Guevara Review

A few blocks north of the square in the Carlos Pellegrini neighborhood is the Museo Casa de Ernesto "Che" Guevara, in one of several houses rented by the future revolutionary's family during his youth. Thoughtful exhibits fill 10 rooms and include photographs and such personal possessions as school reports and the contents of his bookshelf—testaments to a precocious intellect. There are two films on rotation in a room in the back to fill in some of the historical context, but the exhibits make more sense if you already know a bit about his life, or have at least seen the film The Motorcycle Diaries—on display are a replica of the motorcycle in question and photos and articles from the voyage.

    Museo Casa de Ernesto

    The Che museum is one of my favourite museums. I have visited it 3 times over the last 2 years and I still cannot get enough. They have done a superb job with this house and there is so much to learn and to see about Che the man, father, friend and revolutionary. On display is also the motorcycle of Che used in the movie "The motorcycle diaries".

    Cost is now 5 pesos per person and you can catch a bus from the town centre to the museum.
