You might be in gauchoville, but that doesn't mean you have to renounce creature comforts or slick design: hip hotel chain New Age has turned this 1910 town house into the coolest digs in town. You'll be loathe to get up from the comfy crimson sofas in the slate-gray atrium, whose checkered floors, exposed beams, and stained-glass windows hint at the building's past. At night the lights dim and it becomes a wine bar. Cow-skin rugs bring just the right dose of country to the minimal beige-painted rooms, which have huge beds. Some rooms open directly onto the sunny patio, where tables, chairs, and outdoor sofas overlook a tiny pool.
