Estancia Las Carreras Review

This estancia has been in the same family since 1779. It's still a working farm, with more than 2,000 cows whose milk is used to make cheese both here and elsewhere. There's also a little museum with displays on the history of the valley and the estancia. The guest rooms in the main house are decorated with local textiles and such unique touches as bedside tables that were once used for making bread. Rooms open onto a peaceful courtyard, as do the cozy living room and the restaurant, which is open to nonguests with a reservation. Activities include horseback riding, hiking, and mountain biking. Ask a staffer to arrange a massage for after your exertions.
