Bodegas Nieto y Senetiner S.A

Bodegas Nieto y Senetiner S.A Review

White adobe walls, tile roofs, flower-bed-lined walkways, and huge shade trees welcome you to this bodega. From mid-March to mid-April volunteer pickers arrive for breakfast, a brief explanation of harvest technique, and an introduction to their foreman. Then, with tools in hand, it's off to the vineyards with the agronomist until baskets are inspected to see who wins the prize for the best pick. From mid-August until the end of September pruning (podar) takes place, and you can join the experts in cutting, tying, and modifying vines. Perhaps the most unusual tour is a three-hour, 2-km (1-mi) horseback ride to a hilltop for a view of the mountains and vineyards. During a maté and muffin break, an oenologist explains the varietals growing around you. All of these activities include lunch at the bodega, tasting, and a tour, and all require reservations.
