Jesuit Missions of Chiquitos
Jesuit Missions of Chiquitos Review
In the Chiquitania region of Santa Cruz, Jesuit priests in the 17th century built this church for local Christianized Indians. The 10 churches that remain are beautiful examples of a merging of Catholic and local religious influences of that period, as well as the venue of an international festival of Baroque and Renaissance music. It's also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Ask about tours to the area in agencies in the city.
