Museu das Cavalhadas
Museu das Cavalhadas Review
The Museu das Cavalhadas displays the outlandish medieval-style costumes worn by participants in the Festa do Divino Espírito Santo. Among the roster of activities are parade and a mock battle between Moorish and Christian mounted knights in a public field that resembles a bullring. (The Christians win every year.) The museum is in a private home—Dona Maria Eunice, the owner, is a descendant of early settlers. She gives a lively explanation of the annual festivities.
