Brasilia and the West Restaurants

Universal Diner

Universal Diner Review

The kitchsy decor is one of the main attractions of this restaurant—bulldog statuettes, miniature porcelain dolls, used vinyl LPs, and other antiques cover the walls and hang from the ceiling. The chef-owner, Mara Alckamin, is always on hand, asking whether you liked the food. Try the lamb served with a lemongrass and cardamom sauce. On Friday night the place is transformed into a club that attracts a lively crowd of different ages.
