Caiman Ecological Refuge Review
This 100,000-plus-acre ranch pioneered the concept of ecotourism in the Pantanal. Part of the working ranch is a 10,000-acre private nature preserve. Lodges are spread out over the property. The main lodge has the longest list of amenities. The smaller lodges—Baiazinha, on the shores of a small lake, and Cordilheira, built on stilts next to a forest—provide close contact with Pantanal wonders. Guests can enjoy activities such as horseback rides through the wetlands, bird-watching tours, photo safaris, and canoe trips on the refuge's vast holdings.
