Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Pilar
Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Pilar Review
This heavily gilded church was consecrated in 1733, built on the site of an earlier chapel. This is the most richly decorated of Ouro Preto's churches—it's said that 400 pounds of gold leaf were used to cover the interior. The church building also houses the Museu de Arte Sacra (Museum of Sacred Art).
