Estação Vera Cruz

Estação Vera Cruz Review

One of the most biodiverse places on the planet, Estação Vera Cruz is a 6,000-hectare nature preserve. This is the largest private Atlantic Forest protected area in Brazil, owned by one of the world's largest paper pulp mills. The visitor center introduces you to the ecology of the area. From here knowledgeable guides lead you on a 2-km (1.2-mi) trail through the forest. Highlights are the pau-brasil (brazilwood) and jatobá (South American locust) trees, and birds—especially the colorful toucans and parrots. Call ahead to announce your visit.
