Alto da Sé

Alto da Sé Review

The Alto da Sé is the most scenic spot for viewing Olinda, Recife, and the ocean. It's also a good place see some historic churches as well as to sample Bahia-style acaraje (black-eyed pea fritters) and Pernambuco's famous tapioca cakes. Have a seat at one of the outdoor tables here, or browse in the shops that sell handicrafts—including lace—and paintings. To get here, just walk up on Ladeira da Sé.
