El Norte Grande Sights

Museo Naval Review

Located in the old customs house, the museum has displays about the Battle of Iquique in 1879, when the Chileans claimed Iquique from their neighbors to the north. Here you can get a glimpse at what the soldiers wore during the war and at the antiquated English arms used by the Chilean army. A well-hidden corridor displays photos and descriptions of two-dozen bird species of the Chilean seashore.
