The Singular Patagonia Review
Taking the former Bories Cold-Storage Plant, once used for processing and exporting sheep, and turning it into a sleek, modern hotel with all the comforts of the 21st century is no easy task. But as proven by the Singular Patagonia, which opened to rave reviews in late 2011, the results are worth it. The hotel is situated in Puerto Natales, a small town in the center of Chilean Patagonia, just steps from Torres del Paine National Park. Rooms measure 500 square feet and feature 20-foot glass-panel windows overlooking the Patagonian fjords. Brushed-cement ceilings allude to the industrial past, while the furnishings, spacious bathrooms, and free Wi-Fi keep the mood thoroughly modern. A refined restaurant, a 3,000-square-foot spa, and an exclusive menu of expeditions, tours, and activities in the heart of Patagonia make this one of the most spectacular experiences in the region.
