Getting Here and Around
By Air. The Central Coast is served by LAN Airlines via Santiago's Aeropuerto Comodoro Arturo Merino Benítez, an hour and a half flight from either Viña del Mar or Valparaíso.
By Bus. There is hourly bus service between Santiago and both Valparaíso and Viña del Mar. Tur-Bus and other companies leave from Santiago's Terminal Alameda, or take buses from metro station Pajaritos. Smaller companies serving the other beach resorts depart from Santiago's Terminal Santiago.
By Car. Since it's so easy to get around in Valparaíso and Viña del Mar, there's no need to rent a car unless you want to travel to other towns on the coast.
By Train. The bright, spacious Merval commuter train links Valparaíso with Viña del Mar. It runs every 12 minutes from 6:30 am to 10:30 pm on weekdays, and from 9 am to 10 pm on weekends and holidays.
