Viña Montes
Viña Montes Review
Founded in 1987 in the Curicó Valley as Discover Wine, this highly successful premium wine producer has since moved its center of operations to the renowned Apalta sector of Colchagua and has changed its name to Montes, after its star winemaker and owner. Known for its deep, rich, concentrated, oaky red wines and crisp whites (most also oaked), every bottle has a stylized angel on the label. The new gravity-flow winery—launched in 2004—was designed according to Feng Shui principles. If you are feeling light-headed after the tasting, Café Alfredo offers snacks and light lunches. This winery suffered significant damage during the February 2010 earthquake. Please check prior to your visit to see whether they are open for tours.
