Hacienda Los Lingues Review
One of Chile's best-preserved colonial haciendas, this estate southeast of Rancagua has remained in the same family for four centuries. Staying here is a bit like traveling back in time: 17th- and 18th-century adobe buildings hold spacious rooms furnished with brass beds and heated by woodstoves. The hacienda is part of a 20,000-acre working ranch with extraordinary horses and miles of trails through the foothills. Manicured gardens, timeless porticos, and plush living rooms provide idyllic spots for relaxation. Deluxe four-course Continental dinners, served in the garden or dining room, make use of fine china, crystal, and silverware and are complemented by the definitive Chilean wine list. Use this as home base for visits to local wineries or olive oil mills, or the Sewell mining city high in the Andes, or spend a relaxing day at the estate riding horses or bicycles. This building suffered significant damage during the February 2010 earthquake and, as of this writing, was closed until further notice. Please check to see if the property has opened prior to your visit.
